Since the start of the pandemic, the number of people working from home has dramatically increased and the same goes for Mr C. As he is spending most of his time in his office, it is vital for him to make himself comfortable in his dedicated workspace. This is why having a comfortable and supportive office chair is a must.
This Flexi-Chair ergonomic office chair from FlexiSpot has everything you need as an office chair. It supports your body from head to toe! The chair came unassembled in a big box containing all the parts, screws, hex key, and instructions.
The office chair parts are quite heavy, but I managed to remove them safely and set it up by myself. It is very quick and easy. Once all the parts were out of the box, it was ready for the installation of the chair. Inserting the whole seating part onto the gas lift by myself is easy but it was quite heavy to lift the whole seating part. I had to use one of my legs to support to ease the weight of the seating part. If you want to see how I installed the chair, watch it via my YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/T5UZJVhhAPs?si=MklCcwJ0tBedzbET
This chair features an S-shaped ergonomic design, conforms to the natural curvature of the spine and adjusts to the body’s movements. It provides good support to the lower back. The headrest and backrest were covered in temperature-sensitive fibre velvet mesh to allow breathability.
We enjoy having a headrest, as not many office chair offers a good headrest. It allows us to ensure our head/neck is supported when we want a rest.
The backrest comes with 9 levels of adjustments (around 7 cm) to suit the user. Mr. C and myself are very short (our height ranges from 158 to 162 cm) and we did not need to adjust it at all. Whenever we move the chair by holding on to the headrest, we find that we will accidentally lift up the backrest. Fortunately, it is easy to reset it back down again.
It also comes with a 3-stage locking synchronised chassis and an adjustable backrest range of 90°-135°. We find that having the backrest at 90° is too upright and uncomfortable. Hence we both prefer the first stage of locking. To adjust the backrest, you need to unlock the handle (under the seat, it is also the handle to adjust the height), and use your body weight to push the backrest backwards. Then lock the handle (push the handle inwards) and you will hear a clicking sound. When the backrest is at the last stage 135° and you would like to reset it back to 90°, you need to unlock the handle, using your body weight to push the backrest back before it can reset. It takes a bit of trial and error to determine the biting points of the locking chassis but once you do, it is straightforward to change the position.
The armrest also allows for multi-stage adjustable height adjustment. By pressing the trigger, you can adjust it to suit your individual needs. The armrests are very firm but have a soft finish and a smooth matt surface like a polyurethane (PU) cushion.
Lastly, we find the seat cushion very spongy and comfortable. It provides the right amount of relief distribution. The materials are breathable and have a cloth feel.
We find it comfortable and it has everything you need for an office chair. It provides the right support for your back including the full coverage arch-shaped headrest. Furthermore, it allows you to lie back for a quick rest! Overall, we are delighted with this great quality chair. It is pricy, but in the long term, this is a great investment for your body.
