Inateck USB 3.0 Hub Review

13 December 2017 by Eileen

Inateck USB 3.0 Hub is a metallic multifunctional Type-C portable hub which can extend the Type C port on your laptop/tablet. My husband has been looking out for this type of hub to enable him to mirror his smartphone to a projector or TV. This is bang up-to-date as it’s capable of streaming 4K UHD video to HDTV, monitor or projector to extend screen!

Inateck USB 3.0 Hub Review

This is cased in aluminium and is very well constructed and lightweight. I like that this is so small that you can have it in your bag to use it on the move. Also this is instant plug and play and because it is hard wired, there is no break in signal! We’ve tried other casting devices that work over Wi-Fi but we’ve had problems with it the signal breaking up or it simply not respond.

Inateck USB 3.0 Hub ports

It has five ports: 2 USB A 3.0 ports, 1 HDMI port, 1 SD and 1 Micro SD port. It is very handy especially when your laptop only has a few ports! Some of the ultra-portable laptops these days have few ports so this would be particularly handy. The two USB 3.0 ports support up to 5 Gbps transfer speed!

Inateck USB 3.0 Hub

On the instructions, it does mention to not connect two or more high-consuming devices simultaneously, especially two portable hard drives. It is something you have to be careful not to do it.

This Inateck USB 3.0 hub is compatible with Windows 10, Mac OS X, android and no drivers needed. It is available to buy from Amazon. For more information about this hub, please visit the Inateck website. This is not the first time we have used Inateck, as we have been using the Hub HB5001 for charging gadgets and the IPX5 Water Resistant Speaker in our shower for more than three years!  Also do check out my review for the Inateck Bluetooth Keyboard BK1003E, Inateck 2-Port Rapid car charger, Inateck laptop backpack CB1001 and Inateck camera case.

Disclosure: We received the sample for the purposes of writing this review, however all thoughts and opinions remain our own.

With more and more items being able to use USB ports sometimes it is difficult as most of my laptop USB ports are already in use with the mouse, laptop cooler and phone charger. This does look like that would make things much in easier in that regards x
