Stellar Hob Top Espresso Maker Review

29 September 2017 by Eileen

Do you want to know how Italians make the best coffee? One of the secrets of their brewing success is using a Stove Top Espresso Maker. Using such a simple tool to create the ultimate Italian espresso is seamless.

Stellar Coffee 6 Cup Espresso Maker

This stylish premium grade stainless steel finish Stellar Hob Top Espresso Maker makes a perfect cup. In fact, it holds up to 400ml to make six cups of espresso! This espresso maker is easy to disassemble, wash (dishwasher safe) and it is suitable for all hob types. There are three parts of the espresso maker: base, valve and top jug. There is a silicone gasket on the underside of the Top Jug and over a period of time, it will need replacing. You can get the gaskets from Stellar Customer Service. The lid on the jug is non attachable. It comes with a lovely phenolic handle that stays cool to avoid burning your hands! Also, it comes with a lifetime guarantee! I love what this maker offers as I know this is a good brand that I can rely on. It is not a machine and so won’t be breaking down unless damaged caused by misuse.  Of course, if you prefer a espresso maker machine, then see here!

This espresso maker may look a little complicated on first impressions, but it is in fact remarkably simple to use. Fill the base with water (just below the valve, approximate 400ml). Place the valve into the base and fill with fine ground espresso coffee. Screw the top jug on and place onto the stove top over a medium heat. After a few minutes (approximate 7 minutes when we timed it), you will hear the coffee being transferred under pressure to the top jug. It does sound a bit scary for the first time as I was unsure what was it and didn’t know if it had done. It took me a few times to get used to it and to understand how to use it properly.

Remove the jug from the heat and you can pour the espresso straight to your cup! I enjoy using this as it does make a very nice espresso, easier to clean than using a coffee machine and compact to store away! Needless to say, this eye catching espresso maker looks so stylish and it would make a great Christmas present for any coffee lover. With the premium grade stainless steel that should last a lifetime, it should represent a good investment. In our use so far, there’s been no discolouration after use. It is available in good retailers and Amazon.

Some lovely Italians introduced me to these little marvels a few years ago and I have been a fan ever since. This one is rather classy looking too.

I had a similar one and I loved it. I might get one, for when I’m not using the espresso machine. I do love coffee.
