Star Wars Bladebuilders 2in1 & Rey of Jakku Staff Review

24 September 2017 by Eileen

Hasbro has unveiled its highly-anticipated new toy line and expansive collection of figures, role play, vehicles, and more celebrating the debut of Star Wars: The Last Jedi on this year’s Force Friday II! We were fortunate to get the Star Wars Bladebuilders 2in1 Path of The Force Lightsaber and Star Wars Force of Destiny: Rey of Jakku extendable staff first hand to review. The Last Jedi film will hit the theatres on 15 December 2017.

In addition to its classic expressions of figures and role play, Hasbro’s wide-ranging line of toys will also include innovative and new products. The new Force Link technology combines wearable tech with the beloved characters and vehicles from the Star Wars saga to deliver a play experience that brings Star Wars stories to life like never before. Use the wearable Force Link band to unlock an extensive collection of sounds, phrases, and lights with compatible figures, accessories, vehicles, and playsets in the 3.75-inch line.

The Electronic Porg Plush and RC Hyperdrive BB-8 offers fans fun, interactive play with their favourite Star Wars sidekicks and creatures. Hasbro’s vast new offering also includes highly detailed figures and role play from Star Wars: The Black Series for collectors celebrating fan favourite characters like Rey with key items including the Star Wars: The Black Series Deluxe Rey’s Speeder (JAKKU) Vehicle. Hasbro is also offering Star Wars themed NERF blasters, lightsabers, masks, playsets and so much more for fans of all ages.

Star Wars Bladebuilders 2in1 Path of The Force lightsaber

Star Wars Bladebuilders 2in1 Path of The Force lightsaber

Star Wars Bladebuilders 2in1 Path of The Force lightsaber allows young Padawans to either choose to follow the dark side or the light side! To be on the dark side, simply attach the red Sith blade to automatically activate red light effects. To be on the light side, switch to the Jedi connector piece to automatically activate blue light effects.

Star Wars Bladebuilders 2in1 Path of The Force lightsaber review

This lightsaber is just one of the BladeBuilders collection. To expand for ultimate customisation, you can combine this lightsaber with other compatible lightsabers (each sold separately) to battle! This comes with lightsaber, red Sith blade connector, Jedi connector and instructions.

The lightweight lightsaber comes with 3 AAA demo batteries which should be changed. The on/try me/off button can be found on the handle. Once it is turned on, it will light up and make noise. It will change its colour according to the connector. The battling noise is not too loud. The lightsaber can be extended up to 58cm long by flicking it out.

Building the lightsaber is pretty straightforward. Simply slot it in and turn clockwise to lock it. To release the lightsaber from the connector, press the red button and turn anti-clockwise. The whole process is very smooth and easy. Do check out our Star Wars Spin-Action Lightsaber BladeBuilders review and video for more information.

We love the red Sith blade where you can extend the blade by pressing the red button to activate it. The Jedi piece also comes with a hidden knife that can be activated by a push of your finger. Both premium connectors are awesome and loved by my children.

Rey of Jakku Extendable Staff

Star Wars Force of Destiny Rey of Jakku extendable staff

Rey of Jakku Extendable Staff comes with a highly detailed staff and two changeable end pieces. The materials on the center of the staff are slightly rubbery which makes it comfortable to hold and spin. This staff can be customised with BladeBuilders Lightsabers (each sold separately) and the two changeable end pieces snaps out to over 104cm.

Now your child can recreate the epic adventures of Rey on the desert planet Jakku!

Both of my children were thrilled to play with these and now can’t wait to play with them with their friends. I would recommend these to any Star Wars fans because you can customise these lightsabers to your heart’s content. Overall the quality is great and feel very sturdy when built. I love the details on the lightsabers and staff. They are available to buy from good toy shops and Amazon.
