My Bake for 2016

26 December 2016 by Eileen

Some of you may know that I love to bake and have tried many different recipes already this year. I have tried numerous cheesecake recipes from baked strawberry cheesecakes to Japanese cotton cheesecakes. I’ve failed numerous times with this last one. Each time, I waste at least six eggs and not to mention plenty of time and effort. Nevertheless, one out of ten bakes, I have made a good Japanese cotton cheesecake. It’s so light and fluffy!

At my friends’ request, I have also baked quite a few strawberry, cranberry and black cherry cheesecakes. These are the few bakes I did and posted on Instagram!

As for my other bakes, I have also baked cakes for my Chinese club to try like cake pops, carrot & walnut cake, upside down pineapple cake and many more.

During Easter, I baked and decorated an Easter cake plus used the leftover Easter eggs to make an Easter egg cheesecake. Yes, another type of cheesecake!

My plan for next year is to learn to make more challenging cakes and try to catch up with all the Bake Off recipes! I am quite looking forward to next year’s Bake Off even though it has switched to Channel Four with different judges and presenters except for Paul Hollywood. I hope for the best! I really hope that it won’t be a flop like how Top Gear went with the new presenters. I am so glad that we have Amazon Prime so we are able to watch The Grand Tour! Phew! It’s so much better with those three crazy presenters! How can you not like their madness!

I am so looking forward to 2017 and hopefully do more delicious bakes for my family and friends. Do check out some of my yummy bakes over at Instagram! Last but not least, I want to wish you all a Happy New Year 2017!

Leftover Easter eggs ? What are they ?! Love the look of your cheesecakes – I am so tempted to try a Japanese cotton cheesecake now but it sounds like it needs a lot of practice ! 🙂

Lol, I do buy lot of cheap Easter eggs and we always left so many! I filled the Easter egg with crushed biscuits and full fat cheesecake mix with double cream and sugar! Then pop in one spoon of jam! Delicious!
