What would you do if you have a hair loss?

5 January 2017 by Eileen

Hair loss affects many people for many reasons such as stress, hereditary hair loss, polycystic ovarian syndrome, anaemia, pregnancy or excessive styling. So what would you do if you have hair loss? Would you look for alternative methods to cover it or consider a hair transplant?

What would you do if you have a hair loss

My husband’s family have hereditary hair loss and it mostly affects the female members in his family. Luckily for my husband, he doesn’t have a bald patch yet but the volume of his hair has noticeably decreased. You can see more of his scalp now.

Unfortunately for my mother-in-law, her hair was very obviously patchy. To hide her hair loss, she wears a wig bespoke human hair wig.

If you experience a hair loss, then it is worth to check if you have any undiagnosed medical conditions, then follow up with treatment. It could be as simple as eating healthy food that is rich in iron or changing the ways you style your hair, to give your hair time to grow back properly.

Recently, I went to an Anthony John Salon blogger event to learn how to style my hair to increase the volume and for a hair health check! I have never done it before and so I was really looking forward to finding out the condition of my hair! I am proud to say that I passed with flying colours! Everything checked out great for my hair and scalp! It was one of the best they had seen. It is worth checking if your local salon has this functionality and they will be able to recommend the products to use for your scalp. It was educational and an interesting experience to see your own hair and scalp blown up 400 times magnification on their camera!

Hair loss not only affects the appearance of the person, it also affects self-confidence. Some people choose to hide it under a hat or wig, some people will choose to treat it with medications and some will want to make a permanent change by having a hair transplant, like the footballer Wayne Rooney. Comparing the before and after photos, you can see how successful his hair restoration was. The full head of hair makes Wayne look 10 years younger! This is definitely a boost for self-confidence!

Hair restoration is a minimally invasive surgical procedure and you will remain fully conscious as only local anaesthetic is required. If you would like to know more about the procedure or hair transplant cost, do check out the website for more details!
