Testing Start-rite Warrior Shoes

21 June 2016 by Eileen

Last month, we were testing out these Start-rite Warrior shoes and we wanted to see how it fared after a month. Are they standing up to the test by my active soccer mad son and will it keep going into the new school year? Yes, it did and it should!

start-rite shoes review

Mr K is a very active child who likes to play soccer during his breaks with his friends almost every day.  We often have to buy him new school shoes, not because he outgrows the shoes but in fact, it is because the shoes soles wear out or the materials have torn. Every new term, I have to buy him a new pair of shoes that won’t last him beyond the term.

Wearing these Start-rite shoes, he can feel the difference between Start-rite and the supermarket shoes. His first impression was that he felt very comfortable wearing the shoes as it provided him cushioning around his feet and ankles. He also likes that these shoes are ultra-lightweight with a flexible sole.  It gives him more freedom and flexibility to walk or climb the climbing frame.

This range starts from size 11 – size 1.5 with four different widths to choose from.  As this is my first time getting it online, I printed out their paper foot gauge to help me to measure his foot!  It is so easy to use and I was able to get an accurate measurement.

Second Week of Trialing

This shoe comes with riptape fastening for adjustability and padded ankle for support and a comfortable fit. The lining is anti-bacterial to inhibit fungal and bacterial growth.  The shoe also comes with anti-scuff complete protection which means the shoe will last longer!

After a month of wear, the shoes still look good inside and out, especially the sole which still has plenty of grip. There are no scuffs that I can see. This shoe should last him a while, hopefully until his feet have outgrown the size of the shoes. Although the price of the shoes are more than what I would normally pay, it lasts longer so cheaper shoes are a false economy. I would definitely buy these again.

These look great and really hard wearing. I love the paper foot gauge as I used it on Miss M earlier in the year and it worked great! Thinking about Startrite for September as they do seem to last longer.
