Our Next New Car?

8 September 2015 by Eileen

Our car is over 3 years old and it’s usually from now that we begin looking for a new car. There is such a huge variety of cars on offer now that, as buyers, we are spoilt for choice. One particular area that has seen huge growth is the SUV market. Many manufacturers now have an SUV model as they are trendy family cars now compared to where they have come from.

time for a new car

One such car that we’ve been considering is the Kia Sportage. This ticks many boxes for what we’re looking for in a car. Firstly, we think it looks really stylish and modern. The distinctive Kia grille really stands out and draws your attention. Then as you examine the detail, things like the ‘shark fin’ roof antenna and LED tail-lights shows that this is no run-of-the-mill car. It comes really well equipped but is still very affordable to buy. There is a great selection of engines and also a choice of two wheel or four wheel drive models (the latter denoted by a ‘KX’ prefix).

Kia have long been promoting their 7 year warranty and they are still the market leaders in this area especially given that this is transferable from owner to owner. This shows how confident they are in their build quality and reliability. Should things not go quite as planned, their car parts are very affordable and readily available too from places such as http://www.ONLINEcarparts.co.uk.

We do an average amount of miles in a year and a lot of that is going away for long weekends. The Sportage has a 564 litre boot which is great for practicality especially with the low load lip. The seats are easy to fold down too and this can increase the storage to a huge 1,353 litres!

We think the Kia Sportage is potentially a great family car for us. Does anyone have a Kia Sportage? What do you think of it?

We looked at a Kia Sportage last year. We wanted the KX-4 version but they didn’t have it in to test drive and we ended up changing to another BMW. SUVs are so popular now and I think the sportage is an excellent one and good value for money too.

We looked at this when we purchased our last car but in the end went for the Cee’d. If we’d known I was pregnant at the time we would have definitely gone for it, it’s a great family car.
