Breakfast is always very important to all of us to start the day right. Warburtons and The British Heart Foundation (BHF) have teamed up to help educate the nation on the importance of maintaining a healthy balanced diet, which includes essential starchy carbohydrates such as bread, in order to maintain a healthy heart.
My dad had passed away due to a heart attack. Since his death, my mum has been constantly nagging me to keep exercising and eat healthy. So does my husband! I am not a wholemeal bread eater and normally buy white bread even though I know that wholemeal bread is healthier for you than white. I’ve always worried that it would taste like cardboard after previous experiences. In fact, after sampling Warburtons wholemeal bread, it is delicious, soft and easy to eat.
Do you know that Warburtons have a long-standing relationship with the BHF and they have pledged to raise £1m for the Wear It Beat It campaign? Until the end of February, Warburtons has committed to donate 5p from the sale of every Wholemeal loaf 400g and 800g sold. Look out for these special loaves with an on pack donation in shops from 19th January until the end of February.
Warburtons want the UK to get involved, so head to Warburtons Facebook page where you could win a Red Breakfast hamper, aprons and many more. Remember that the theme is red, so be creative and upload your photo to the page! If you are not sure what to make, check out their breakfast REDcipe for ideas/recipes to make ricotta & honey with raspberries on Wholemeal toast or avocado, pomegranate & feta on a slice of Wholemeal.
Warburtons kindly sent us a very lovely hamper to host our own Red Breakfast, but unfortunately most of our food (eggs, raspberry, avocado, cheese and many more) had been crushed. But this didn’t stop us for having a heart-healthy breakfast! Instead I made a heart shaped egg mayo sandwich!
This is a very simple recipe. Boil the eggs for 10 minutes, drain well and shell it. Mix in the (low fat) mayonnaise and spread it on the toasted bread. Add cucumber and sweet corn to it too. Chop up fresh fruits and add a bit of honey if you prefer! Do get involved and help them raise £1 million fund for the Wear It Beat It campaign! Buy a loaf today!
