The Return of Harmony DVD Review

11 January 2015 by Eileen

The Return of Harmony is My Little Pony Friendship is Magic’s new DVD which will be launching on 12th January 2015. My Little Pony fans are not only getting to enjoy the 138 minutes of magical adventure, The Return of Harmony will also be released as a limited edition DVD which includes a bonus My Little Pony toy collectable toy! My Little Pony Friendship is Magic is based on the line of toys manufactured by Hasbro.

My daughter was so excited when she opened up the box to find her collectible toy. Personally I have not watched much of the show but both my children, but particularly my daughter are huge fans and were engrossed in it. They regularly watch it together.

In this DVD, there are six episodes from Season 2 which aired in 2011. The episodes are:

  1. The Return of Harmony: Part 1
  2. The Return of Harmony: Part 2
  3. Lesson Zero
  4. Luna Eclipsed
  5. Sisterhooves Social
  6. The Cutie Pox

The first two episodes are one story that are split into two parts. In it, Princess Celestia tasks the ponies with retrieving the Elements of Harmony and defeating Discord, only for the draconequus to manipulate the ponies with his mind games. Twilight and her friends must see the worst of each other and themselves before they can finally confront Discord.

In Lesson Zero, the ponies Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, and Princess Celestia have new colours for their magical horn glow and Twilight has not written a letter to Princess Celestia this week, causing the unicorn to panic. Twilight’s magic glow colour has changed from purple to light raspberry, Rarity’s from blue to vivid blue, and Princess Celestia’s from light blue to gold.

This DVD is definitely worth it as my children were just glued to the TV for the full 2 hours 12 minutes duration. They both love the magic and the interesting storyline. The DVD is available to buy in all good retailers and Amazon.
