May the Best Pet Win is My Little Pony Friendship is Magic’s new DVD which had launched on 16th February 2015 in time for the half term. Yet again, My Little Pony fans are not only getting to enjoy 110 minutes of magical adventure, May the Best Pet Win was also released as a limited edition DVD which includes a bonus My Little Pony collectable toy! My Little Pony Friendship is Magic is based on the line of toys manufactured by Hasbro. Recently, we had reviewed the Return of Harmony and we managed to get the same Rainbow Dash toy in the surprise bonus toy pack! Doh! My daughter was slightly disappointed!
In this DVD, there are five episodes from Season 2 which aired in 2011. The episodes are:
- May the Best Pet Win!
- The Mysterious Mare Do Well
- Sweet and Elite
- Secret of My Excess
- Family Appreciation Day
May the Best Pet Win is the seventh episode from season 2. In this episode, it is family appreciation day at school and Rainbow Dash decides to hold a competition to determine which is the best pet for her after realizing that she’s the only one of her friends without one pet.
The Mysterious Mare Do Well is the eighth episode from season 2. In this episode, it involves Rainbow Dash’s rise to hero status through various cliché superhero rescues. However a mysterious mare called by the ponyfolk as Mare Do Well quickly takes her place as the new hero of Ponyville. Can they found out who is the hero? Ms C and Mr K were kept on tenterhooks while they watched this. This story definitely engaged them and got them thinking and guessing at the same time.
The DVD continues with the 9th, 10th and 12th episodes from the 36 episode series but they are independent stories. This DVD is definitely worth it as my children enjoyed the interesting storyline. It is available to buy in all good retailers and Amazon. Ms C is a huge fan of My Little Pony!
