Mr. Men Collection from The Works

3 May 2014 by Eileen

Both of my children love to read Mr. Men and often borrow it from their school library.  Having a personal set of the Mr. Men collection has always on their wishlist.  It’s nice to know that The Works do sell them individually and as a set as to buy individually will cost much more than that.  Each book costs £2.50 each and so it works out much cheaper to buy it as a box set for £39.99.

MY Mr Men LIBRARY

This much loved classic set, Mr. Men: My Complete Collection, are inside a bright and colourful box with the printed My Mr Men. Library on the book spine.  It contains classic books like Mr. Tickle and Mr. Greedy, which was published in 1971, through to the new ‘Mr. Nobody’, which was published in March 2010.

Mr. Men is written and illustrated by Roger and Adam Hargreaves. It was published by Egmont UK limited. All the mini books are paperback with a single size font and colourful illustrations.

Each book tells a story about one individual Mr. Men characters. What my children enjoys most is that each character is very unique.  So their background story is always very interesting and exciting.  It tell us each individual character trait.  Like Mr. Small.  He is so small that no one notices him and whenever he goes to work something bad happens!  So in the end, Mr. Small went to work with the man who wrote children’s books and what he did was extraordinary.

My daughter’s favourite character is Mr. Tickle!  Mr. Tickle is always going around tickling people in surprise!  Ms C always love a tickle before bedtime! She and Mr K have recently drawn their own Mr. Tickle!

For the World Book day, Mr K was dressed up as Mr. Strong!  He is very proud to show off his big strong muscles!  He always wishes that he has super powers and so he will be able to do help the poor or weak!  Mr. Strong is someone he wants to work up to!

If you’d like to start a new collection or build up your existing collection, The Works is currently offering 10 Kids books for £10! This is such a great bargain! They are a bargain book store and with this offer, it is an even better bargain to stock up for birthday goody bags or to use as prizes for the children!

10 for 10 The Works

So what character you like the most? I think I like to be Mr. Lazy!

I love Mr Men books – I started buying them when my eldest was little and we have quite a few now. I’m sure they’ve always been about £2.25/£2.50! 🙂
