Certainly Wood Flamers & S’Mores Review

19 May 2014 by Eileen

Two weeks ago, we received the Certainly Wood S’Mores kit which included a fire starter kit with kiln dried logs; kiln dried kindling; Flamers Natural Firelighters; CW matches plus a package of digestives; marshmallows; chocolate; wooden sticks; a s’mores recipe and a graphic showing you how to make this delicious BBQ treat in a fire pit or chimenea.

We used the Kiln Dried Kindling and Flamers Natural Firelighters to light up.  It started to burn really quickly and then we placed the Kiln Dried Logs with it.

The flamers are completely natural and made from just two ingredients – twists of wood wool gently dipped in melted wax which is handmade in the heart of Herefordshire.  They are not only odour free, they are very easy to light and burn with such a big passion, we only needed one to light the fire.

They are clean, convenient, British and bursting with green credentials.  Flamers are perfect not only for fires but just the job for wood burning stoves, BBQs, chimeneas, fire pits and bonfires too.

Flamers are available in three sizes:

  • Mini 3 pack (RRP 79p)
  • 24 pack (RRP £3.49)
  • 50 pack (RRP £5.99)

They can be order them online at http://www.certainlywood.co.uk or find them in all good garden centres or check out their website for stocklist. We were very impressed with how quickly the fire lighted and how each of the logs are very neatly chop.  But be careful of wood splinters – I’d recommend wearing a glove or use large tongs.

Overall, this is one of the best fire starter kits we have came across.  This is something that we would definitely stock it up especially with this lovely weather!  Also there are not much ash left behind, if there is, you can use it to fertilize your plants!  How good is that!

We cheat and have a gas bbq! Can’t beat the taste of real bbq’d food though!

They look handy for camping. Men always want to put petrol on a BBQ to light it and the it smells bad!

these look like an easy way to get your BBQ lit. There is nothing worse that taking ages to light then having to wait for your food.
