How to make a perfect SMore

19 May 2014 by Eileen

How to make a Perfect Smore!  We just had the most perfect weekend! Sunshine and a lot of outdoor activities!  With the promise of nice weather, we quickly hurried down to our local supermarket to stock up on BBQ food, flour to make pitta pockets and the most important thing – buying a BBQ pit!

How to make a perfect SMore with digestive biscuit

We received the Certainly Wood Flamers and Smores for review, click here to read more. We used the kit to light up the fire.  Firstly, we started with the Kiln Dried Kindling and Flamers Natural Firelighters and once it started to burn, we placed the Kiln Dried Logs on it.  We were all very impressive how quickly it burned and we started toasting within minutes!

What are S’Mores?

It is a popular campfire treat in USA and Canada which consists of a roasted marshmallows and a layer of chocolate sandwiched between two pieces of Graham Cracker. As you can’t find Graham Crackers in the UK, digestives are a good alternative.

We were provided with plain digestive biscuits, a bar of chocolate and marshmallows in the kit.  This is how we made ours.

Skewer the marshmallows and toast over the fire until it catches fire.

Quickly blow off the fire and place the digestive biscuit with a piece of chocolate and put the marshmallows on top and use the other digestive biscuit to sandwich it.  The marshmallows melt and become runny but this helps stick all ingredients together nicely.  It does take a while for the thick chocolate to melt but it is very delicious!

This is how it looks like!

How to make a perfect SMore

As there was not enough ingredients provided, I took out a leftover chocolate Easter egg and placed over the biscuit.  The chocolate quickly melted and it was quite easy to squash it!

We also ran out of the plain digestive biscuits!  So I raided our cupboards for some chocolate digestive biscuits instead!  This worked perfectly! Sandwiched by two chocolate biscuits!  This is easier to make without any fuss!

So if you are looking to make s’mores, try using chocolate digestive biscuits instead!

Disclosure: We received the sample for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own.
