Cake Angels Ice Cream Cone Cupcake Kit

16 May 2014 by Eileen

Baking can be quick and fun especially with the help of kits! Cake Angels has kindly sent us their new Ice Cream Cone Cupcake Kit and a range of products to try out!

Cake Angels products review

This Ice Cream Cone Cupcake kit comes with six wafer ice cream cones, vibrant sprinkles, chocolate cake mix and icing sugar. It requires 60 g of butter, 100 ml water and 1 teaspoon of milk.

Firstly, preheat the oven to 170°C and stand the cones on a baking tray. Empty the cake mix into a mixing bowl and add 110 ml of cold water. Beat well with an electric whisk for 2 minutes until the mixture is smooth. Divide the mix equally between the 6 cones and place on the middle shelf of the oven for 20 – 22 minutes until they spring back when pressed. I filled each cone to 2/3rds and all the sponges had over filled. Maybe next time, I would just fill the mix to half of the cones.

As for the frosting, simple add 60 g of butter at room temperature to the icing sugar and 1 teaspoon of milk. I found it quite messy as the icing sugar is so fine that it gets everywhere while mixing.

Mr K was so excited that he got to frost his own cone and muffins. The chocolate fudge icing is very thick and smooth to spread. It tastes good too!

Ms C is happily decorated her cone and muffins with different types of sprinkles and flowers! I love Cake Angels’ new Rainbow sprinkle! They look fanciful and of course colourful! It comes with chocolate-coated hearts, confetti, strands and 100’s & 1000’s. We also had the fruity flavour sprinkle. They look so lovely!

Cake Angels Ice Cream Cone Cupcake Kit

Both of them were very impressed with the ice cream cone cupcake and of course the delicious chocolate fudge icing with colourful sprinkle muffins!

Cake Angels Chocolate Muffins

Cake Angels Ice Cream Cone Cupcake Kit RRP £2.49 and the Rainbow sprinkle RRP £2.29. Both items are reasonably priced. Most Cake Angels products are available from Tesco and you can visit http://www.cake-angels.co.uk/ for an extra sprinkle of inspiration.

Weirdly enough my neighbour said she’s made some of these the day before we were asked if we wanted to try these out. Really looking forward to making ours.
