Beanies Tiramisu Steamed Cake

4 April 2014 by Eileen 12 Comments

Beanies had selected 10 bloggers to join in their #BeaniesBakeOff for this Beanies Easter Blogger Competition.  They had sent me a selection of Beanies coffee to do this challenge.

Beanies Tiramisu Coffee Steamed Cake

A few week ago, I had tried to make a Steamed Vanilla Sponge Cake with Sprite.  So I decided to replace the vanilla extract with Beanies Tiramisu Premium Roast coffee instead.  This is a steaming method and would require steamer.

Ingredients:

  • 4 large eggs
  • 2/3 cup sugar (use 3/4 cup for sweeter cake)
  • 1 1/2 cup self-raising flour, sifted
  • 40ml 7-Up or Sprite
  • 10ml of coffee (one teaspoon of coffee with 10ml of hot water)

Hope you like this recipe.

I also made some heart shaped and round shaped chocolate!  Again, I used the above quantity of coffee and mix it with 200 g of melted milk chocolate.  It turned out lumpy for some reasons which you can see in this photo.

Beforehand, I had melted white chocolate and drizzled it on the heart-shape and round-shape templates.  Leave it to cool before I added the lumpy chocolate onto the round shaped template.  Then I placed it in the fridge.  As for the heart shaped template, I melted more milk chocolate and poured it into the template before I add the lumpy chocolate in and add more melted milk chocolate to cover it.  They taste gorgeous!
