Zappie – Bringing Pictures To Life Review

6 September 2013 by Eileen

The NEW Zappie app is set to amaze pre-school children by bringing to life their bedroom walls, furniture and clothing in a wonderfully magical and interactive way. They use the latest augmented reality technology to launch a series of colourful animations from a set of cute products and images which can be placed anywhere from walls to T-shirts – making it irresistibly fun for both parents and kids to play and interact with.

Zappie - Bringing Pictures To Life Review

We have received the wall stickers and fun stickers for review. It is simple and easy to apply the wall stickers on the wall. They are very bright, colourful and cute. My children always love sticking stickers and they both helped stick these too. They are quite thin but they seem durable enough and should last for a long time depending on how many times they get reapplied of course. There are over 25 wall stickers in this pack and should cover over 1 metre by 1 metre. We had to reapply some of the wall stickers as we had changed our minds about where they some of them should go. The wall stickers still look perfect except for some of the tips of the corners from me picking it out. The wall stickers can be used on mirrors, bedroom furniture etc. In the fun stickers, there is one postcard and four stickers. They can be used to stick on books, pencil cases etc.

The first thing that you need to do is to download the free “Zappie” Nursery Rhymes app through Google Play or iTunes stores.  Open the app and it will show you a list of eight popular nursery rhymes, sung and composed in traditional English accents and melodies and created using real instruments and original artwork.

Rhymes include:

  • Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed
  • I’m a Little Teapot
  • Five Little Ducks
  • Wheels on the Bus
  • Row, Row, Row Your Boat
  • Old MacDonald had a Farm
  • Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
  • Once I Caught a Fish Alive

Select the nursery rhyme which matches your Zappie product, then ‘zap’ the image – scanning it with your device until the animation loads. It will play the video and watch the nursery rhyme video as it comes to life from the image! The app is very responsive in picking up the product. If you don’t have the Zappie product, just click the butterfly and watch the video to sing along with your children!

I made a video about the Zappie wall stickers and how it works: https://youtu.be/0eIGXdXOOmw

I would highly recommend them to any parents! They are fun, unique and interactive!  Both of my children love the ideas and music! They are totally fascinated and want to sing and watch!  I rate this innovative product 5 stars out of 5.

Disclosure: We received the samples for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own.
