My Kingfisher Fashion Blogger Challenge

28 July 2013 by Eileen 11 Comments

Each month Kingfisher Shopping Centre sets a local fashion blogger a challenge where they have to buy a Spring/Summer outfit from the Kingfisher Shopping Centre for £50.00 or less. I am really happy to have been selected to do this challenge. I have not done an adult fashion blog on my blog before and this is a great treat for myself and let my readers to know more about me.

My Kingfisher Fashion Blogger Challenge

Kingfisher Shopping Centre is located in Redditch, England. It contains 140 stores, with a range of large and smaller units, including Debenhams, M&S, BHS, Next, New Look, H&M and Primark.  There are a total of four car parks. The parking charges were very reasonable! For example, 0 to 2 hours costs just £1.20 and 2 to 5 hours costs £2.50. It is a bargain compared to other big shopping malls. Please do remember to have plenty of coins as the machine in car park 2 does not take notes!

Another good excuse to shop there is the free WIFI!  Nowadays, I cannot live without internet so at Kingfisher, I can catch some news while shopping.  As some of you might know that I am going to host a Philips Beauty Pampering Party and I need to look good in front of my guests!  I was so glad that Sundip Gill from the Ed James Group agreed to give me some fashion tips and be my personal shopper for two hours!

First stop, we went to New Look to look for a dress and she found me this Bright Pink Shirred Waist Chiffon Dress which only cost me £12.99! What a bargain! Wearing this dress is very comfortable especially in this hot summer weather!  The shirred waist helps hide my tummy away. I also got a pair of “Bling” frameless sunglasses for £4.99, and a “Gold by Giles” lipstick for £1 on sale (RRP £2.99).

After getting my outfit, the next thing on the list was footwear! I needed some nice sandals to match my dress.  Next had a sale on and inevitably I bought this pair of tan sandals for half price at £12!  I was quite lucky to find a pair of shoes that match my dress and fits my feet. They are not the easiest sandals to take off!  I have to battle with two buckle belts to remove them but overall it is comfortable and the jewellery sparkles and look great around the sandals.

Next stop is H&M. They are a regular stop for our children’s clothing as they are affordable and we love their designs! I bought a green sling bag for £7 on sale (was £12.99) and a brown leather belt for £3.99. The green bag comes with two golden zips. It is big enough to have my wallet, phone and keys plus a few make up items in it.

To complete this look, I can’t go without accessories!  I bought a yellow cut out fan collar necklace from Primark for £3, 4x basic slide metal hair clips (from £3 reduced to £1) and gold hoop earrings £3.50 from Claire.

In total, I spent £49.47 for this outfit which is just within my budget!  I was delighted to be able to buy such a nice outfit in one outing so why not get yourself down to Kingfisher too if you are nearby and check out the range of stores for yourself.
