Marinated Salmon using Pyrex 4-in-1 Plus Range

9 May 2013 by Eileen

Cooking can be so easily using Pyrex! I am loving the new 4-in-1 Plus Multi-functional cooking and storage range standard rectangular dish with lid. It is the perfect multifunctional solution for busy family life – cook, store, freeze and reheat food with just one product. We try to eat fish at least once a week and I have found this Marinated Salmon’s recipe from Pyrex’ website. It looked so simple, easy to cook with minimal ingredients.  These are the ingredients and preparation method I took from their website.

Pyrex 4-in-1 Plus Range

Ingredients

  • 1 salmon steak without the skin, 600g
  • 3 tablespoons rough salt
  • 3 tablespoons caster sugar
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chopped dill
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Preparation

  1. Wash the salmon and wipe it dry with kitchen paper. Place it in the rectangular dish.
  2. In a bowl, mix up all the other ingredients, salt, sugar, dill and pepper, and cover the salmon with the mixture.
  3. Put the lid on the dish and leave to marinate in the fridge for at least 24 hours.
  4. At the moment of serving, rinse the salmon in cold water, then wipe it with kitchen paper. Cut it into thin slices or in small cubes.
  5. Serve with hot boiled potatoes, or with a green salad.

Tips: You can beat 200 ml of crème fleurette into a whipped cream, adding a little salt, pepper and chopped dill, to serve with the salmon.

Pyrex 4-in-1 Plus Range fish

We do not like to eat raw salmon, so I put it in the microwave using the same dish with lid for 4 minutes to cook the salmon. It is so brilliant that I won’t need to transfer the fish into another dish or put a microwave cover thanks to the steam valve on the lid. It is very easy to press the valve in or out of the lid. Within minutes, I have a gorgeous fish to serve with steamed rice. The recipes are brilliant and easy to follow.

The dish with lid is very easy to hand wash and it is also dishwasher safe. It is not oven safe, so never put the lid in oven. This rectangle’s dimension is 23 cm x 11 cm x 6.5 cm. The lid is air and liquid tight and it keeps food fresher for longer. I love the vibrant green colour which makes for a modern and stylish container.I rate this 5 stars out of 5 as it is a quality piece of kitchenware and good value for money!  You cannot go wrong with that! They have a different sizes of the 4-in-1 range to suit your everyday needs. I would highly recommend anyone to Pyrex’s ranges.

The 4-in-1 dishes are made from borosilicate glass, which offers superior thermal shock resistance, compared to less expensive soda lime glass. While thermal shock may not be a consideration for the average home cook, safety is key in any kitchen and needs to be taken into account when it comes to glass bakeware. The legendary glassware range is able to withstand temperatures as low as -40°C and as high as 300°C, it is also able to endure temperature variations of up to 220°C. So the 4-in-1 Plus dishes can be taken directly from the fridge straight into the oven, without the smart lid – then from the oven to the table without any safety concerns.  This allows for batch cooking food in advance, which can then be frozen, defrosted and reheated confidently with the 4-in-1 Plus glass dish.  All Pyrex products come with 10 year guarantee. Items within the Pyrex 4-in-1 Plus range are priced from £5.99 and are available from stockists nationwide.
