Spicy Prawns with Pyrex’s Classic

9 May 2013 by Eileen 4 Comments

As a busy mother of two, I always try to find quick and easy ways to cook a healthy meal and food that my family would enjoy. So when I came across Pyrex’s website for recipes, I found this 10 minutes quick and easy meal – Spicy prawns.  Prawns is my son and my favourite seafood.

Pyrex's Classic

To cook this dish, I decided to use Pyrex’s Classic cake dish with handle. It is shallow and round which is ideal for cakes/puddings but I believe that this glassware is suitable for all purpose use as it is safe for oven and microwave. Since we have a small family, I think this is the perfect dish for cooking a small portion of spicy prawns. These are the ingredients and cooking methods I took from Pyrex’s website.  For more recipes, please visit their website or create your own!

Ingredients

  • 150g of prawns or large shrimps, raw
  • 1 small clove of garlic, crushed
  • 1 pinch powdered cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil
  • Salt
  • 1 teaspoon chopped
  • Parsley

Preparation

  1. Peel the prawns leaving the ends of the tail.
  2. Arrange the prawns in the round dish. Add the garlic, the pepper, the olive oil and the salt. Mix together, cover and leave to marinate for 30 minutes in the fridge.
  3. Preheat the oven to 200 °C.
  4. Put in the oven for 10 minutes.
  5. Serve hot, sprinkled with chopped parsley, accompanied with white rice, or cold as a starter.

I was suppose to cover this and marinate but due to being short of time, I decided to oven it straight away. It was so beautifully cooked and tasted absolutely scrumptious! I served this dish with rice. We finished it within seconds! I will definitely cook this again.

Spicy Prawns with Pyrex's Classic

I love how Pyrex’s glassware always looking so elegant and presentable.  I am able to pop it on the table without need to swap for a serving dish. I rate Pyrex’s classic glassware 5 stars out of 5.  It is lightweight and easy to wash by hand (Dishwasher safe). I would highly recommend anyone to Pyrex’s range.

Pyrex’s Classic glassware range are made from borosilicate glass, which offers superior thermal shock resistance, compared to less expensive soda lime glass. While thermal shock may not be a consideration for the average home cook, safety is key in any kitchen and needs to be taken into account when it comes to glass bakeware. The legendary glassware range is able to withstand temperatures as low as -40°C and as high as 300°C, it is also able to endure temperature variations of up to 220°C. All Pyrex products come with 10 year guarantee. Items within the Pyrex Classic glass range are priced from £3.99 and are available from stockists nationwide. To find out more about the entire Pyrex cook and kitchenware collection and locate your nearest stockist, visit www.pyrex.eu
