Pyrex’s Impressions impress me

10 May 2013 by Eileen 2 Comments

I have been trying to cut down on waste and the way I cook. Since I’ve had this Pyrex’s Impressions square roaster for review, I have saved a lot of unnecessary usage of tin foil. Instead of using a big oven tray covered with tin foil, I just use this roaster to cook. It’s so useful and easy to clean.

Each day, my children have different out of school activities like swimming lessons, karate lessons and learning Mandarin. Sometimes, I do not have time to cook a healthy and quick home cook meal. This square roaster comes in handy. The dimension is 24 cm x 24 cm x 7 cm. It is big enough to cook a nice selection of BBQ chicken drumsticks or fish etc for a family of four. I marinated chicken drumsticks/pork ribs coated with BBQ sauce in a zip lock bag. After marinating for 24 hours, I placed the chicken drumsticks/pork ribs onto the roaster to cook in the oven.

After cooking, it is advised not to pour cold water into the hot dish. Let it cool down before you soaked it with water. This lovely stoneware is also advised not to be used on a gas cooker or under a grill. The stoneware is excellent at retaining heat for longer. This is great for us as both our children eat very slowly and by the time they want something from the dish the food will be cold by then.

It comes with three different colours ice white, deep red and ocean blue.  I have the deep red roaster which adds a traditional elegant look to our dining table. It has a long lasting glaze which provides good resistance to scratches or stains.  It is also easy to wash.  I like the convenience of it being microwaveable too. I rate this 5 stars out of 5 as it can be used on a daily basis, affordable and made of excellent quality. I would highly recommended Pyrex to anyone.

Made of 100% natural stoneware, the Pyrex Impressions collection is oven proof up to 250°C and is available in heritage colour tones of ice white, deep red and ocean blue to co-ordinate with any kitchen or table style. This range is excellent for slow cooking as the material retains heat for longer. In addition, each product is coated in a long lasting glaze, which covers the entire product, including the base – giving it superior durability as well as very good resistance to scratches or stains. This cooking utensil is guaranteed for 2 years against all manufacturing defects. Items within the Pyrex Impressions range are priced from £7.49 and are available from stockists nationwide.
