Almond Breeze® is teaming up with the Foodies100 to challenge you to come up with an easy to make, yet incredibly scrumptious, breakfast smoothie for a chance to win a fantastic gourmet hotel stay for two people, where you’ll definitely find the time to enjoy a hearty breakfast.
The unsweetened variant boasts 60 per cent fewer calories than even skimmed milk, as well being low in saturated fat and a good source of calcium, making it a really healthy – and delicious – way to start the day. There are three variants of Almond Breeze® in the range; unsweetened, original and chocolate, all of which are bursting with health benefits. - Pour it out and decorate it.
I love to drink cold coffee each day but I sometimes miss out on my 5 fruit/veg a day. So I decided to add a banana into my regular drink and make it into a smoothie using the Almond Breeze. It gives the coffee an almond twist and with the added sweetness of the banana, makes for a unique flavour – try it and let me know what you think my banana coffee Smoothies!
If you want to make it for your child, you could try swapping out the coffee for chocolate (either chocolate milkshake or cooled down hot chocolate). This provides a good way to hide the fruits if your child does not like to eat bananas. Also by using Almond milk, it is also suitable for anyone who are allergic to dairy, eggs or lactose intolerance. Of course, it is also suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
Disclosure: We were given two cartons of 1L Almond Breeze Unsweetened Almond Milk to make this smoothie using my own recipe for this Foodies100 competition.
