Just after Boxing Day, we invited our friends to come and celebrate our buddy dog Mabel’s sixth birthday, and at the same time, I also planned a list of individual and team games with our guests. This game show took me nearly three days to plan and print!
I wanted to share my ideas with you in the hope that they can give you some inspiration should you host any party games in future. This game is suitable for teenagers and above and is great for 10 or more people.
This year, The Old Rep Theatre is presenting the awesome family favourite Peter Pan The Musical based on the novel by J.M. Barrie! This is the eighth Christmas production that The Old Rep has produced alongside the Birmingham Ormiston Academy (BOA) Group. The show features a cast of six professional actors alongside 12 students of the BOA Group and the musical is aimed at ages four and above.
You have until 14th August 2022 to catch this superbly enjoyable Bugsy Malone The Musical at Birmingham The Rep. We loved this bad boy musical, especially with the lively music, the great energy levels from a talented cast of 9 to 15 year olds and the excitement which ran throughout the show.
To celebrate the release of the Mary Poppins Return movie, we have received this gorgeous Disney Mary Poppins Umbrella from Paladone to follow in the footsteps of the magical nanny herself and to transport us to our next mystical adventure!
Mary Poppins is a much-loved musical that first aired in 1964 and was produced by Walt Disney. This sequel is set decades since her original visit and she is returning to help the Banks siblings and Michael’s children through a difficult time in their lives.
It has been a long time since we last watched it but I will always remember how she arrived by umbrella to the Banks home, while the rest of the nanny interviewees got blown away!
We are no strangers to the Monster High school characters. They are strange, scary and at the same time very unique characters! We have previously reviewed the Ever After High Ginger Breadhouse and Monster High Frightmares Aery Even fall.
Now the Monster High™ ghouls are heading to Boo York City in their first ever monster-iffic musical, Boo York, Boo York! Whilst there, they hope to witness the historic passing of the Crystal Comet at a hair-raising gala and monster skull-ebration, and along their way they will meet new beast friends carving their way in the big city: Luna Mothews™ daughter of the Moth Man, shines in a goth-moth inspired print with mesmerizing wings and an antenna headband that is cute as a bug’s ear!; Mouscedes King™, daughter of the Rat King; avoids looking cheesy in an Upper Beast Side dress with golden polka dots on the bodice, a gold foil tapered skirt and bright blue tiara; her mouse ears, tail and tufted fur are totally monsterrific! and Elle Eedee™, daughter of The Robots, sticks to clean lines in a futuristic dress with metallic belt/overskirt, dramatic print cape, bright blue shoes and scary cool headpiece.

This humorous and heartfelt musical follows the classic tales of Cinderella (Anna Kendrick), Little Red Riding Hood (Lilla Crawford), Jack and the Beanstalk (Daniel Huttlestone), and Rapunzel (Mackenzie Mauzy), all tied together by an original story involving a Baker and his Wife (James Corden and Emily Blunt), their wish to begin a family and their interaction with the Witch (Meryl Streep), who has put a curse on them.
If you have not watched Shrek before, read this to understand it better: Shrek is a grouchy, terrifying green ogre who loves the solitude in his swamp, finds his life interrupted when many fairytale characters are exiled into his swamp by order of the fairytale-hating Lord Farquaad. Shrek tells them that he will go ask Farquaad to send them back. Farquaad tortures the Gingerbread Man into giving the location of the remaining fairytale creatures until his guards rush in with something he has been searching for: the Magic Mirror. He asks The Mirror if his kingdom is the fairest of them all but is told that he is not even a king. To be a king he must marry a princess and is given three options, in a parody of The Dating Game: Cinderella, Snow White, and Princess Fiona, from which he chooses Fiona, who is locked in a castle tower guarded by lava and a dragon. Shrek fights a fearsome dragon, rescues the princess and learns that real friendship and true love aren’t only found in fairy tales.
