Peter Pan The Musical At The Old Rep Theatre

9 December 2023 by Eileen

This year, The Old Rep Theatre is presenting the awesome family favourite Peter Pan The Musical based on the novel by J.M. Barrie! This is the eighth Christmas production that The Old Rep has produced alongside the Birmingham Ormiston Academy (BOA) Group. The show features a cast of six professional actors alongside 12 students of the BOA Group and the musical is aimed at ages four and above.

In J.M. Barrie’s tale, the Darling children, Wendy, John and Michael meet the boy-who-never-grows-up, Peter Pan, who flies them on an adventure to Neverland. Yes, they flew and it was magical to watch them flying in the air! This production is packed with captivating costumes, spectacular songs, creative choreography and fantastic flying sequences! The whole stage and props were very well planned.

Along their way to Neverland, the Darling children meet the fantastical fairies and the Lost Boys, encounter and battle the evil Captain Hook and his gang, and not forgetting that scary tick-tocking crocodile!

This production will whisk you away and remind you of what it is to be a child again. The music was very catchy and there were excellent vocal performances by the professional actors. The story is captivating for both adults and children alike. It’s a great show that gets everyone involved and you will not be disappointed. I would highly recommend it! It is about 2 hours long including a 20-minute interval.

Please call their Box Office team on 0121 359 9444 (Phone lines open Tuesday to Thursday, 10 am – 3.30 pm and Friday, 10 am – 1.30 pm) or visit oldreptheatre.co.uk (online booking fee applies).

The Old Rep Theatre is next to Birmingham New Street station and it is quite easy to access. If you are driving there by car, please note that Birmingham’s Clean Air Zone is now in place. There are charges applied for any non-compliant vehicle driving in the zone. There is plenty of parking around the theatre within easy walking distance. But do be aware that traffic in Birmingham can get quite jammed, so it is always best to ensure you have plenty of time to spare.
