Party party party! We all love party! Yesterday, although we had thick snow, our lovely guests still managed to turn up for our Blossom Hill Vie Rosé Wine tasting party! We also had a curry takeaway. I think that Blossom Hill Vie Rosé is very light, sweet, fruity and easy to drink. As such, it is great with any type of food or on it’s own. We sampled it indoors whilst it was snowing heavily outside, but I would imagine it would be particularly refreshing during hot summer evenings when served chilled.
If I was to describe the taste of Vie to a friend, I would agree with the bottle’s description of floral aroma, with ripe strawberry flavours. The bottle also suggests peach flavours but I was not getting that so much. It is a reduced alcohol wine so it’s perfect when you would like a glass of wine without the high alcohol content.
The RRP is £4.99 which is affordable enough to be a regular purchase, though that price point will inevitably be a very competitive market. However, the fact that it has only 5.5% vol means it has 30% fewer calories than Blossom Hill still wine which is great news! I can drink more rosé without getting drunk and without going over my limit of calories. They also come in Blossom Hill Vie White. You can read my review here.
What my guest think of it?
Mrs W: I liked the Blossom Hill Rosé. It was like a lighter version of their White Zinfandel which I like. It was very sweet, which makes it a nice drink for chilling on a night with a box of chocolates too!
I would recommend it for those who are trying to cut down their alcohol intake but still like a glass of wine on a night. At £4.99 its cheaper than most brand wines, so I think its good value for money. I wouldn’t drink it every week, but if I was dieting or cutting down alcohol, then it would be my first choice. It would also be good for those who want to drink with friends but can’t take a lot of alcohol. You could drink this and not get tipsy too easily. Overall – good value, good taste, but not for men as its a bit girlie!
Mr W:The wine was very sweet and I felt like a girl drinking it. I wouldn’t drink it when in a large group but maybe at home if I had a bottle out. I would rather have a bottle of cider though.
Mr C: As a regular red wine drinker and an occasional rosé drinker, I enjoyed this Blossom Hill Vie Rosé. I like my rosé chilled really cold and I think this would be perfect as a lighter, summer drink such as an impromptu summer evening BBQ on a ‘school’ night.
Disclosure: We received the samples for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own.
