Turbospoke Review

14 August 2015 by Eileen

Want to own a motorbike but too young to ride? Why not check out this awesome Turbospoke! It is a Bicycle Exhaust System that makes your bike look and sound like a motorbike! Turbospoke creates realistic motorbike sounds as soon as you start cycling. The faster you pedal the louder it gets.

The megaphone exhaust pipe looks like the real thing and amplifies the sound. Yes, it really does sound like a motorbike that will make everyone do a double-take! You can either impress them with your biking skills or prank them!

The Turbospoke comes with:

  • 3 interchangeable plastic cards
  • stickers
  • universal fitting clamp with two rubber spacers
  • megaphone exhaust pipe
  • tool kits
  • instructions

The megaphone exhaust pipe is very lightweight. There are 15 stickers to allow you to customise the look of your exhaust and your bike. It took me 10 minutes to install the Turbospoke onto the frame as I was filming the process. It is straightforward and should only take you a few minutes to do so. It should fit 95% of all bikes (Suitable for 16 inch wheel sizes and above)!

Each plastic cards makes different sounds. It is very easy to change the card in between. The card is quite thin and I am not sure how long the card will last. But between the three cards, it should last for a while.

You might wonder how it works. The concept is quite simple and clever. As the wheels of the bike rotate, the spokes hits the card resonating the sound. It is really fun! Our neighbour even came out to check it out! It can get quite loud if you cycle very fast!

My son had dropped his bike with the Turbospoke onto the ground. The Turbospoke seems fine and quite durable!

Watch our video here where I demonstrate the installation and the sounds each card makes! https://youtu.be/CzaOxPANHYA

Turbospoke is available from Smyths, Amazon, Halfords, cyclelife and many more shops. Check out the Turbospoke website for more information!
