Taskmaster Board Game Review

3 February 2021 by Eileen

Taskmaster is a popular entertainment show hosted by the mountainous Greg Davies and his assistant Little Alex Horne. Now you can play this game in the comfort of your own home, with exclusive video tasks from Alex Horne as your final task! This game is suitable for aged eight and above, with three to five players (If you have more than four, you can team up and adapt the rules).

Taskmaster Board Game Review

Inside this box, it comes with one folded game board, scoreboard playing pieces, perforated paper slips, Taskmaster trophy, 200 task cards, wipe-clean pen and instructions. This game will require you to have your smartphone/tablet to do the last task.

To set up the game, make sure you have plenty of space and a timer, pen and paper. I think this game is best played in the morning or afternoon with good weather, as the garden tasks require you to go to the garden to grab materials.

In the game show, the contesters bring things in advance. An example of such a task is to bring something to put in your mouth. Contestants will have to bring one item and the player who brings the best prize wins five points and take the prizes home. In this board game, winners score three points and take all the prizes. To play this game, you can watch this video to learn more.

Now, place the corresponding cards on the game board: Kitchen Tasks, Living Room Tasks, Lab Tasks, Garden Tasks, Final Tasks and Secret Tasks. Each player has a minute to draw a self-portrait on a perforated paper slip to be placed into the picture frame. Place it on the leader board in alphabetical order (right to left) according to the first letter of your first name. Every player takes a Secret Task card and carries out the task covertly during the course of the game. The winner is the one with the highest score. In case there is a tie, the tied players should complete one more location task and the judge determines the winner.

Each task takes around five minutes for each player to complete and the Taskmaster will award the players with points according to their effort. The score is written on the wax seal attached to their frame (playing pieces). Then update the leader board by placing the leader (playing pieces) on the right, last place on the left on the game board.

We love this game! It gets everyone to be creative and think on their feet. I think once we are over with Covid-19, this will be a great party game to play with family and friends! Get everyone moving! This game is available in John Lewis, good online stores and Amazon. For more information, please visit https://gingerfox.co.uk/
