John Adams Travel Games Review

2 August 2018 by Eileen 1 Comment

Are we there yet? Are you still looking for travel games to entertain your children this summer? Then you may like to get a couple of small and easy to carry John Adams travel games to play with your children like these three games (Rummikub Travel, Othello Travel and Triominos Travel). They are suitable for all occasions!

Rummikub Travel

The first one is a strategy game called Rummikub Travel, which is aimed at ages seven & above and for two to four players. It comes with 106 tiles, 4 rack holders and instructions. The only assembly required was to place the feet onto the rack holders.

There are quite a few rules to play this game but it is quite similar to the card game Rummy. This game requires you to play your tiles wisely and manipulate the existing tiles to get rid of your tiles in the fastest way. It took us a few rounds before we fully understood the rules. We all find this game very challenging and great to play! Even though the tiles are small, they are quite easy to handle especially with the grooves on the numbers.

Othello Travel

Othello is a classic fast-paced strategy game that takes me back to my childhood. This travel pack comes in a neat looking box and inside it reveals the board and pockets to store 64 reversible playing discs. Othello has always been Mr K’s favourite as he loves a good challenging game!

Othello is the internationally acclaimed two-player strategy game where you need to think a step ahead to outwit your opponent. It is suitable for two players aged seven and up. I do find that this travel pocket is slightly too small for my liking. I was not able to flip the playing discs very easily. Mr K often had to help me as my fingers are far too big to flip in between the spaces given. We all love this simple, yet fun classic game! Do check out our review on the original classic board game.

Triominos Travel

Triominos is a game variation of the well-known game of dominos but with triangular pieces. Every Triomino is unique because it only occurs once in the game so it must be used wisely to gain an extra score by making unique shapes.

This strategy and logic game is so easy to play and provides great fun for all the family! We all enjoy this game very much.

All these games are available to buy now from good toy retailers and online.
