Enchanted Forest Board Game Review

4 March 2018 by Eileen Leave a Comment

The Enchanted Forest Board Game is a magical treasure hunt game based on classic memory match in the Land of Fairy Tales from Ravensburger. All of you are going on a fairy tale search-and-find! This game is suitable for aged four and above and for two to six players.

Enchanted Forest Board Game review

This game comes with 13 trees, 13 treasure tokens, 13 treasure tiles, 2 dice, 6 playing pieces, board game and instructions. It requires minimal assembly by placing the tokens into the bottom of the plastic trees.

To win this game, you have to be the first player to find all three treasures the king seeks. First, everyone has to gather in the village (starting point). Turn the top treasure tile face-up to reveal the treasure you need to find. You can either play the normal way which is much shorter or the classic way which is longer to play, it is more competition and requires strategic planning.

We have opted for the normal way which can also take a long time to play with four players. To play this game, players take turns rolling the dice and moving that number of spaces on the board. There are options to turn left or right and sometimes we get stuck, not knowing which way is the best way to turn! We keep going back and forth!

The players who land on a space next to a tree may lift the tree and peek at the treasure depicted on its base. If that treasure matches the treasure tile on top of the pile at the castle gates, that player rolls his or her way to the castle to make the match and take the tile.

When a new tile is turned over, players test their memories to remember which tree hides the new treasure and get to the gates first to collect it. It can be hard for younger children, especially as all the trees look the same!

This Enchanted Forest Board Game is an engaging memory game which is great for testing and improving memory. My children have fun playing it. This game will appeal to younger children who love fairy tales! It is available to buy from good toy retailers, online and Amazon.
