Halloween Movie Night In with HMV

28 October 2017 by Eileen

This half term, we had a family friendly Halloween movie night in. Thanks to HMV sending us a box full of sweets, balloons, face paints, fangs, candles, a game, Casper DVD and The Addams Family Values DVD to help us to start this ultimate family night in!

As winter is drawing in, we are very much loving spending time at home watching a good movie on a DVD or online to stay warm and cosy, especially over the weekend! Of course, not forgetting to have plenty of snacks and a takeaway!

This goodie box has items to get us in the mood. Mr K loves having his face painted and wearing his fake fangs. Ms C prefers to have a Halloween balloon than anything else.

To start our movie night in, we first watched the Addams Family Values DVD. It has been such a long time since I watched the first Addams Family movie! I had totally forgotten how good the movie was. This is a story about the weird Addams Family, Gomez and Morticia welcomes their third baby boy, Pubert to the Addams household. Wednesday (Christina Ricci) and Pugsley hate the baby and look for a way to get rid of the new addition one way or another. Meanwhile a new nanny is added to the household who overtakes Fester. It seems it was yesterday when I watched this hilarious movie with my sisters. And now I am enjoying the movie with my children.

Next, we watched Casper, which again starred Christina Ricci. I always remember she has this tall forehead that made her look creepy. Casper is a kind young ghost who peacefully haunts a mansion in Maine. When specialist James Harvey arrives to communicate with Casper and his fellow spirits, he brings along his teenage daughter, Kat. Casper quickly falls in love with Kat, but their budding relationship is complicated not only by his transparent state, but also by his troublemaking apparition uncles and their mischievous antics. This is such an old classic movie that will be loved by little ones!

These two movies are definitely great family friendly titles for this Halloween, which you can get from HMV. Of course, you could also get a real horror movie if you have the guts for it!

Disclosure: We received the samples for the purposes of writing this review, however all thoughts and opinions remain our own.
