Lindy WHF-45 Wireless TV Headphones Review

22 July 2015 by Eileen Leave a Comment

Nowadays there are so many things that are wireless that makes our life so much easier than before. I still remember those days where I listen to music or watch television programme very close to the device as the headphones cable was very short.

Having wireless headphones means the world to me! As Mr C is working from home, I try to be considerate so I keep my music volume low or watch TV quietly while he is having meetings. However, with these Lindy WHF-45 Wireless TV headphones, I can have my audio on full blast! I don’t just use it to watch TV, I also use it with my iPad while doing gardening! How cool is that!

Inside the box, it comes with:

  • WHF-45 Wireless TV Headphones
  • Transmitter unit with built-in USB DAC
  • Transmitter multi country power supply
  • 5m USB A to Mini-B cable
  • 2m stereo audio cable with 3.5mm jacks
  • 5mm jack to stereo phono adapter cable
  • User manual

Setting up is fairly straightforward for my iPad but we did struggle to connect it to our smart TV. So it is best that you always check if your TV have the right inputs. I was able to connect it to another non-smart TV set. So it is best that you always check if your TV has the right input.

The wireless headphones are lightweight with soft cushioned earpads and a nicely padded headband. It is perhaps slightly too plasticky though. It requires 2 x AAA batteries (on the right side of the headphones) which lasts up to 10 hours of use which I guess is okay considering it is constantly receiving a wireless signal. On the left side of the headphones, it has a volume control and on/off button. I do find that the on/off button red light can be quite dim especially in this season where the sunlight is so bright all day long.

These are not noise cancelling so the background noises do come through. As I mentioned earlier I do use it in my garden and the connection is good. I can hear the audio very clearly and the sound reproduction is decent. However, one minor gripe is that there is a faint high pitch noise with the headphones even though I’ve not got anything playing. Once you do put some music on though, you don’t notice it and you can continue with your own private silent disco!

Overall the sound is good and being wireless is great if you’re like me and constantly moving around the house. The vocals are clear and there is sufficient bass. When I turn up the volume, the sound doesn’t distort nor are they too tinny. Check out the Lindy Video & Audio website for more information.
