I am so glad the weather is getting warmer. After a long hard winter, the stone patio path, wooden decking and driveway looks extremely dull. So armed with the Kärcher K4 Home Pressure Washer, it is an ideal time to clean away all the dirt that has accumulated.
The Kärcher K4 Pressure Washer combines power with an innovative water-cooled induction motor for enhanced performance and longer life. Our model also comes with the additional Home kit that includes a T350 patio cleaner and detergent.
Setting up the whole unit is very straightforward and took less than 15 minutes. Before you install all the parts, have a small Philips screwdriver handy as there were four screws to secure. Watch this video on how I set it up. If you have already had set it up, skip the first few minutes and I will be showing you how the different nozzles work, the plug & clean and my thoughts about it. Watch it here: https://youtu.be/5aVTD1k3JmQ
The K4 can work using a static or harvested water source drawn either using a hose, or connected to a water butt tap. I am using a water hose via the outside tap.
The trigger gun is very lightweight and easy to use. There is a small yellow triangle lock button on the handle to lock it.
The washer comes with two different nozzles: Vario Lance and Dirtblaster Lance. The Vario Lance is to carry out the common cleaning tasks. It can be regulated between Min and Max. When ‘Mix’ is selected, you can use together with the detergent. This K4 comes with a plug & clean detergent system. Place the detergent into the back of the machine as shown in the photo. Turn the detergent bottle upside down and push it into the slot firmly to pierce the top of the bottle. Next, select the dosage regulator (min – max) and a give it quick flush through to get rid of any air in the system. I did find it hard to pierce the detergent bottle and this part took a while to install.
The Dirtblaster Lance is great for difficult cleaning areas or for a small area. There is no regulator control for this.
The T350 T-Racer patio cleaner is for use on soft floors (for example wood decking) to hard floors (for example concrete, stone, tiles) and on wall. There is a regulator control for min to max depending on the floor. Before using this, it is best to sweep the floor to remove any stones or foreign objects. The patio cleaner is very simple to use and it removes the dirt very quickly. I have not used it on the wall so I can’t comment on that.
This K4 comes with an impact-resistant casing, a fine mesh water filter to prevent dirt particles from damaging the motor and a three-piston axial-flow pump, whilst a safety valve prevents pressure overload.
Overall the K4 is easy to assemble and use. It is not complicated at all as once you plug in your water inlet, simply turn it on the machine. The machine is quite heavy at around 11.8 kg and it sits sturdy on a flat surface. It is easy to wheel the machine around using the handles. It comes with a 6 metre high pressure hose and 5 metre long power cable. It has cleaned very well and these are the before and after photos.
K4 is not just useful for floor surfaces, it is also great for cleaning cars, garden furniture and many more. I would recommend K4 to anyone especially if you are after an affordable pressure washer.
A tip before you pack your K4 away for the next use is to always drain out the water especially during the winter period, as the frozen water may cause breakage inside the hose or machine. K4 is available to buy via Kärcher website, good retailers and Amazon.
It come with 3 year of guarantee, to register your product, the serial number and product code can be found under the machine.
