Barbie Rainbow Hair Review

7 May 2015 by Eileen

This Barbie Rainbow Hair doll is made to play with her beautiful long blonde silky hair. My daughter like this idea as she can simply swipe her Barbie’s hair with the rainbow hair tool!

This set comes with Barbie doll wearing a shimmery pink top and graphic print skirt (Velcro) accessorised with pink loop earrings, a blue bracelet and black shoes. There is also a hair tool, one rainbow colour cartridge, three barrettes, two rubber bands and one brush. This set is suitable for aged 5 and above.

It is very easy to put the rainbow colour cartridge into the hair tool by simply clipping it on. The colour cartridge comes with five vibrant hues: red, orange, green, blue and dark purple. The cartridge is like a wax crayon and easily slides through her hair but it does leave lumpy bits in the hair. It does not have the same effect as on the pictures. If you want to have the same effect, simply wipe the hair through with a piece of tissue paper to remove the lumps. It didn’t bother my daughter nor me as it is going to wash off once she has finished playing with her. I find that you need to give a good rub with a cloth before the colour starts to rub off onto the hair. We did lose some of her beautiful hair in between!

This Barbie comes with a model-like pose. Her hips are not exactly straight. Her limbs are moveable but her elbows and knees are fixed. Her head can be rotated freely and she is ready to pose when she needed!

This set also comes with bands for tying the hair up and clips. I find that the clips are quite small and flimsy. It might not last for long or will disappear in no time. Needless to say, Ms C happily substituted her own accessories.

Ms C likes this Barbie as much as she likes the rest of her Barbie dolls. She will happily style her hair with colour and tying it when she wants. Barbie is very well made and will last for a long time even when the cartridge runs out. She is available in good toy retailers and Amazon at RRP £22.99. This sounds like a fun idea even if it isn’t perfect! I love playing with Barbies, can’t wait to buy some for Little Miss A!

This looks like a fun barbie, shame the colour comes out a bit lumpy though.
