Seasoned Pioneers Fish Curry Spice Blend

17 December 2014 by Eileen

I always love to add spicy spices into my cooking to make the food more interesting and better tasting too. Unfortunately, both of my children do not have such developed taste buds to appreciate such foods. So whenever we have spicy spices they are having something different.

fish curry

Seasoned Pioneers recently sent me two packets of their top quality spices: Fish Curry and Baharat spice blend to try out. Fish curry is one of my favourite meals but I have never attempted to cook it. The spices come in a foil pouch with a clever resealable opening. The packet might look small but don’t underestimate it! Each packet contains at least 20 servings. On the back of the packaging, it summarises the ingredients, flavour/aroma and what to use it for. When you open the packet, you will be hit by the aroma of all the spices. It is very strong so don’t attempt to smell it too close!

There are a few ways to use this Fish Curry spice blend in curries itself, as a rub or in a stir-fry with fish. I chose to dry rub the spices into the fish. I left it for a few hours and then steamed in a wok! It is ready within 10 minutes! I always look for quick and simple ways to serve up a meal. Sometimes, having spices at home help to speed up the cooking and also add wonderful flavour in the meal.

The fish is flavoursome and tasty. My husband and I both enjoyed the fish. The blend of the spices were well balanced and not too spicy. I served the fish along with rice and salad. We do eat a lot of rice but you can serve this with bread, potatoes or in a wrap if you prefer! The fish curry spice is suitable for vegetarians and is free of nut, salt and gluten.

I had a browse at their Worldwide Seasoning guide. I was very impressed with how many varieties of spices they sell! From Vietnam to Morocco. It was amazing that I could just order it online in the ease of my home. Furthermore, the price of the packets of spices are very reasonable. I would recommend Seasoned Pioneers anyone.
