Lite Brix Lite Wars Review

11 October 2014 by Eileen 3 Comments

This autumn, let Lite Brix light up by using this illuminating brick building concept to shine the world with beautiful colours. This Character Online Lite Wars Slayer Jet vs Captain Bolt’s bunker construction set enables your child to build a slayer jet with 2 cannons using Lite Brix lighted building bricks, which feature four colour LEDs that come to life when connected to the mini LED battery power pack.

Inside this set, it comes with a slayer jet, bunker, 1 light up Hell Fire mini figure and 1 Captain Bolt light up mini figure. It is suitable for aged six and above and require 3x AAA batteries to power the slayer jet. Both mini figures require 2 LR41 batteries which are included. This playset took under 30 minutes to build.

Construction

The step by step instructions are easy to follow. The bricks are made from good quality plastic but at times, it is quite hard to put two pieces together. This playset may require adult help if your child is below 8 years old as it was not easy to put some of the bricks together. Also the black colour piece are quite similar to the translucent blue pieces which sometimes we got confused with.

After finishing the construction, we pasted the stickers for the finishing touch. The stickers are very well made and durable. They are not paper type stickers. They are more like plastic stickers that are easy to apply and peel off.

Battery Compartment

This battery compartment has LED lights attached to the one and only translucent piece. The LED lights should last for a long time.

It requires 3x AAA batteries which are not included. You will need a small Philips screwdriver to remove the screw from the battery compartment. Slide the cover and insert the batteries.

Play value

This is a very challenging and fun playset. Mr K has a lot of fun with it, imagining the dark evil force is destroying the good force. In order to fight the evil, he needs to get Captain Bolt into his bunker to fight Hell Fire!

This playset requires fine motor skills to build and encourages independent creative play and inquisitive thinking. It is also great to help the children understand how the battery powers the LED lights through the circuit and Mr K was keen to learn.

The downside is that some bricks (cannons) break off the jet easily which really frustrated Mr K. This jet has to be played with gently. Overall, my son loves this light up playset and he understands that this jet has to be played with care. This will make a great gift for boys who loves constructions. Do check out Rescue Copter and Lumi Star Racer.

Disclosure: We received the sample for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own.
