Last week, I was invited to a Dyson Event where they introduced us to their new product: Dyson DC43H Mattress and many more products like their 360 Eye Robot and Hot & Cold fan AM05. During the session, I learnt a lot about dust mites, the Dyson digital motor V2 and many more.
From a consumer perspective, the Dyson range has grown with an increasing number of products and with choice, it can be difficult to know which product is most suitable for you. After the session, I was able to pinpoint which vacuum cleaner would be best for my family. For example, a family of four with a big house would probably want an upright vacuum cleaner and a handheld for smaller jobs around the house, while a single person in a small house would probably best get a cordless for space and storage. It is all down to lifestyle choice.
After the event, I received the Dyson DC43H Mattress handheld vacuum cleaner and a pot of baking powder to take home to try out. In this video, I explain and demonstrate the use of the vacuum cleaner, and cover questions like will it be compatible with other existing Dyson attachments and how to take the filter out to wash etc. Do take a look at the video. If you have any questions about the product, I will try to answer it: https://youtu.be/CKjq44yXERA
Is DC43H Mattress right for you?
This vacuum cleaner comes with a mattress mini motorised tool. Its stiff nylon bristles agitate the mattress fibres, dislodging dust mite allergens and dirt. With this patented technology, it reduces dust mite allergens from the mattress. So, if you suffer from allergens, this would be the right tool for you to clean around your soft furniture.
What is included?
Inside this box, it comes with:
- Handheld vacuum cleaner
- 3 nozzles: Combination accessory tool, crevice tool and mattress mini motorised tool.
- A charger
The vacuum cleaner is very stylish in silver and white trim. Its colour suits any home. It is very lightweight at around 1.61kg. There are no hidden costs like buying dirt bags or changing filters. The dirt empties directly from the vacuum cleaner into your bin. They recommend to wash the filter with cold water at least every month to keep it in the best condition. In my video, I also demonstrate how to remove the filter and disassemble the clear bin compartment for cleaning. The ability to remove the whole bin compartment makes cleaning so easy around the inner motor.
It comes with three different nozzles which are easy to attach. For the mattress mini motorised tool, if hair or string gets tangled inside the brush, simply use a coin to unlock it and take out the brush to remove any tangle. This is also shown on my video.
It take 5 and a half hour to charge the vacuum cleaner. It will provide 20 minutes of powerful suction. If the boost mode is used, it would last 8 minutes. The indicator on the charger tells us if it is fully charged or still charging which I find particularly useful as I always forget when I put it on to charge.
Will DC43H works with other existing Dyson attachments?
I have tried using old Dyson DC04 attachments (yellow in colour) but it won’t fit. I also tried attachments from a new DC50 Animal and the attachments do fit onto the vacuum cleaner. So any old version with a round surface will not work with it but the newest models with a T shape on the handle may work.
Suction Testing
I spread the pot of baking powder onto my black table and compared the Dyson with my current handheld. I was very impressed that the Dyson suction is so powerful that it left the surface very clean. The digital motor V2 is up to 3 times faster than another conventional motor.
Overall I am very impressed with its powerful suction and no hidden costs. It’s easy to maintain and clean. This handheld vacuum cleaner is not only for mattress. It can be used with the different nozzles to clean around the house and in the car too! It is available to buy via Dyson or Amazon.
