Summer Activities A – Z: P

29 September 2014 by Eileen

We did quite a lot of things for the letter P and hope this gives you some inspiration for summer activities to do together with your children.

Summer Activities P

P for Painting

Painting is one of our favourite pastimes. It can be a very messy activity but painting encourages children to be creative. Early this year, we did the Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh painting using sponge.

There are many ways to paint. Do check out my Tuesday Pintorials round up for salt paint and different type of painting tools.

P for Pancake

Pancake is one of our favourite breakfast foods. They are so easy to make but just need a lot of patience. Let the children decorate their pancake with fresh fruits using their creativity. Click here to for our pancake recipe we use.

P for Peacock

Recently, we went to Warwick Castle for the Mike the knight new DVD release: Journey to the Dragon Mountain and we saw a lot of gorgeous peacocks at the peacock gardens!

P for Peppa Pig

Not too long ago, I wrote a tutorial post on how to make a Peppa Pig Nose. Click here to see the step by step.

We also read the Peppa meets the Queen book which was published by Penwizard Personalised Publishing to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee.

P for Picking

Around our school area, there are a lot of Horse Chestnut trees and while on the way home, we picked many conkers for crafts. At the same time, we have heard they are also good to prevent spiders! I hope so! I’m not sure if this is true or an old wives tale but we certainly thought it would be good to test the theory by placing a lot of the conkers around the house.

P for Pizza

Pizza base is very easy to make, do check out my recipe here. Once the base is done, ask your children to decorate with their favourite toppings.

P for Pompom

Making pompoms is very simple by using tissue paper and string. They are great for decorating a room or Christmas trees! Click here to read more.

Ciao for now! Stay tuned for our Summer Activities Q soon!
