Horrid Henry’s Ghost is the eighth Horrid Henry Factbook and is written by Francesca Simon and illustrated by Tony Ross. It was released on 4 September 2014 and published by Orion Books.
The book is paperback containing about 80 pages in total and there are 12 chapters – including Ghostly first facts, spook spotting, creepy castles and many more interesting facts! The font comes in one consistent size with bold to highlight the important facts. This is quite a big book for Mr K who is aged 6 as there are so many interesting facts to cover within a sitting. Each page contains a good balance of sentences with black and white illustrations. We had to bookmark and split the book up to a few chapters a day as we found that we have to elaborate on the facts in a bit more detail with Mr K as he didn’t quite understand some of the types of ghosts, behaviour and locations for example. This book is a great guide for scary facts and horrible trivia.
We enjoyed reading this book and discussing it in detail with Mr K which really captured his imagination. I would recommend this book to any older children who loves a bit of horrible facts!
