Articulate for Kids is so far one of my children’s and also my favourite games from Drumond Park. The game is very simple to follow and very fun to play! It can be played by a group of children by themselves or with grown-ups and is suitable for 4 to 20 players and for aged 6 and upwards.
Inside the box, it comes with a well-made rectangle playing board, a box of 336 subject cards, 4 counters, sand timer and instructions. On each subject card, there are six categories: Object, Nature, Person, Action, World and Random.
To play the game, the teams need to divide their members into ‘Describers’ and ‘Guessers’. The timer is started, and the Describers take it in turns to describe their way through as many question card entries, from the different categories, as possible to their team members – the Guessers – within a 30-second time limit. The number of answers they get right in the 30-second time limit equates to the number of places they should move their counter. The winning team is the one to get to the finish segment first.
We find that most of the words are easy for younger player to describe with the few exceptions like Wayne Rooney! Not many of them know the names of footballer unless they are David Beckham! I am so proud that my five year old also managed to answer some of the subject cards. This is a great educational game to help to boost their vocabulary and thinking skills! I would highly recommend this game to anyone! This is a fun and great game for children! Just be careful if you plenty of ornaments laying around as children get quite excited when they start to describe!
