Summer Activities A – Z: K

12 August 2014 by Eileen 3 Comments

Both my children have run out of mojo for summer activities. Now all they want is to play board games and stay indoors. The weather has been somewhat unreliable these few days. It has been either too hot or it has been raining. So we took two days to do the letter K.

summer activities kK for Kangaroo

For each letter, they have been learning to write a new word. For K, it was kangaroo and they practised writing and drawing a picture of one. Then both children jumped like a kangaroo with their favourite teddy bears.

K for Karate

Mr K has been going to his karate club since he started reception two years ago. He has achieved a blue belt. It is great watching him practise his moves and showing off his flying kick.

K for Kick

We were playing football at home as it was raining outside. Getting them to exercise and at the same time having fun with with farting football!

K for Kite

It has been a long time since we flew a kite. It was one of my favourite childhood pastimes to fly a kite with my sister. It might seem boring but it does required lot of patience and skill to fly it. Of course, you need plenty of wind. I used to go to Bishan park (in Singapore) to fly a kite with my sister and it could reach at least 10 stories high.

We did tried to fly a kite with them but it is hard for them to get the kite to launch! So we decided to make paper kites instead with a bit of string to fly it around the house.

K for Kung Fu Panda

It has been raining hard, so we watched Kung Fu panda as a treat with a bag of popcorn. It has been a while since we last watched this movie.

Do look out for our letter L! There will be a lot of love around!
