Last week, we were invited to Alton Towers to try out Goodfella’s selfie-powered vending machine at Alton Towers. It was to celebrate the launch of the new Goodfella’s The Smiler Pizza named after Alton Towers’ hypnotic 14 loop rollercoaster.
Mr C had a go at the Smiler while I sat this one out with the children. To be honest, after seeing the roller-coaster, I was more than happy just to watch from the sidelines. It looked too scary to even walk through the gate without peeing myself. Holding onto their fast track tickets, brave Mr C went in with his mate but unluckily the ride had to stop for a few minutes as there were technical problems.
My children and I settled ourselves right in front of the enormous rollercoaster. Mr K took out his pen and paper and started to draw the Smiler. We are very impressed with his drawing!
This picture is drawn after he came back home.
Soon the engineers managed to fix the ride much to the relief of the queue, and Mr C went on the ride. As there were two rides on at the same time, we didn’t manage to catch a glimpse of them at all!
After they staggered back, their initial reaction was that it felt like they had had a workout! The mix of the thrills and adrenaline, along with tensing of the muscles to hang on as you dip, twist and turn and go upside down ensured they were suitably exhausted! LOL! It does look extremely scary! If you have weak heart, it is probably best to avoid it and you also need to be 1.4 metres in order to go on the ride.
Before we headed home, the Goodfella’s selfie-powered vending machine was just beside the exit. We were very excited as we got to take a selfie and get a delicious pizza! So I had tweeted this photo, not sure if you guys have seen it!

After sending through my selfie, we went around the machine to collect our pizza! Mr K and Ms C were so excited that the pizza just popped out from the booth!
Once we got home, I popped in the delicious spicy looking pizza into the oven for 22 minutes. With the spicy hit of sauce and creamy cheese topping on top of the authentic deep pan pizza base, you get hit by the spicy sausage and the mind blowing intensity of the jalapeños! It tastes furious! This is not for younger children! It is definitely for people who can take hot and spicy foods! We had to remove a few of the jalapeños as they were generously applied. If you think you can handle it, give it a try! They really are hot stuff!
