YUUWorld YUUtuu Bag Review

5 June 2014 by Eileen

After seeing children carrying their stuff in flimsy and non-supportive backpacks, YUUWorld wanted to produce a backpack that would be more supportive – yet light-weight. They used the advice of BackCare, the UK’s charity for healthier backs, to incorporate ergonomic features into the YUUbag.

YUU world

YUUbag is an ergonomically designed backpack made of compressed light-weight material, with adjustable straps. The YUUtuu is a smaller sized YUUbag perfect for younger YUUkids from aged 3 to 6. It is slightly too big for Ms C. She has a small frame maybe similar to a 3 year old even she has just turned 5 in May this year. I think it is great up to aged 8, as one of our friends helped Ms C carry her bag and it fit her nicely too!

YUU World review

The moulded foam shell evenly distributes weight across the back, and wide padded foam straps and a chest-strap make the YUUbag comfortable to wear. It comes with a free YUUfun pack with colour pencils, A5 pad, magnetic snakes and ladders game, keyring, desk card insert and full membership card to YUUclub which you need to register online. It comes with plenty of pockets and compartments which allows you to store everything neatly and reach the correct items easily.

Ms C loves the colourful and funky design and couldn’t wait to take it out. She happily carried it out. The zip is slightly hard for her to unzip as it is quite stiff. We needed to get some soap to rub against the zip to help it unzip more smoothly. Also the zip did split a few times but after zipping back and forth, it worked fine.

She managed to pack a few toys, snacks and her coat into the bag. I did find it hard to open while on the move as it opens up flat. It is best to open when sitting down. Also the drink pockets are too small for a bigger water bottle. It will fit smaller mineral bottles though.

After we came back from our trip, I did a quick rinse of the surface of the bag. It didn’t take long to dry except the plastic pocket needed a quick wipe dry.

Overall, this is very cleverly designed bag and is comfortable to carry. Ms C loves it and it should last her quite a long time. YUUtuu are perfect for school, sleepovers, sports and holidays.  Follow them on twitter or facebook for their exciting news.

PS: No longer selling.

I think these would be good for journeys in the car and on a plane.

They are great bags aren’t they but very large. We have the larger size for Little Mr A and it is quite big for him. It will definitely last him a long time though!

We love Monkey’s bag, its going to be so handy on flights to Spain. I agree the sizes are large even for the small bag. I had to check on the website that we had actually received the smaller size!
