SunSense Review

30 May 2014 by Eileen

The sun is finally out! But don’t forget to get your sun cream too!  Our school have asked us parents to apply sun cream to children before sending them to school.  But you normally have to reapply sun cream regularly for it to be fully effective.

sun sense products review

I must say that I had never applied sun cream until reading those skin cancer articles and the effect of global warming.  I am so glad that both of my children will willingly apply the sun cream whenever they are out.  I think it is also part of their school campaign to encourage the children to apply it.

We have received SunSense Ultra, Toddler Milk and Lip Balm to try out. SunSense™ Ultra is a light, smooth, easy-to-apply lotion for the whole family and it provides SPF 50+ protection with 4 hours water resistance. It is available in three sizes, 500ml pump, 125ml bottle and a handy 50ml roll-on. They leaves the skin nice and smooth and is not greasy at all. It does feel tingly! But I am not very keen on the smell though.

SunSense™ Toddler Milk is especially designed for the delicate skin of infants and children. It provides SPF 50 broad spectrum protection with 40 minutes water resistance, yet contains lower levels of substances which may irritate your child’s sensitive skin. They are available in a 125ml bottle and a handy 50ml roll-on. Mr K loves applying it by himself! After a few rubs, the lotion is absorbed onto the skin.

SunSense™ Lip Balm is a new formulation which helps protect, soothe and moisturise dry, chapped lips in all seasons. Now is has added Vitamin E. It doesn’t taste too badly.

Sun Sense has launched the 2014 Sun Sensible schools campaign and are inviting school and nursery pupils across the country to put their creativity to the test and win an Ozzie-style surf sun shelter. Design a surfboard with a sun theme on their website at www.sunsense.co.uk

The prize includes:

  • A ‘surf shack’ – outdoor play equipment featuring a life-size surfboard printed with the winning design.
  • Plus a free SunSense Ultra 500ml pump for every class and SunSense Frisbees and UV wristbands for every child.
  • 3 runners-up will each receive a ‘surf shade’ for their playground, complete with surfboard of the winning design! As well as a free SunSense Ultra 500ml pump for every class and SunSense Frisbees and UV wristbands for every child.

Hi, my 22 month old has really bad eczema and the doctors have prescribed the toddler milk for me however I am now slightly worried after reading this review because you have said it may irritate the skin?? Normal sun cream bring his eczema out really bad and we havent yet used this one.

I remember it was mentioned it will irritate the skin. May be you do a skin test on his skin? Just one drop for 24 hours and see if the skin is okay with that before u apply all just skin.
