Over the last few months, we have been part of Toys R Us toyologists and finally I have been able to put this review up! However the reviews have already been posted on their main website and their blog! We have been testing out BOOMco.™ Dual Defenders and this is what we thought of it!
The set comes with two BOOMco.™ guns, six Smart Stick™ darts and attachable target sticker. The BOOMco.™ is very small, well made and lightweight, which comes with a blaster shield that deflect and collect opponents’ darts.
To operate the BOOMco.™, firstly you have to open the shield by opening the flap and twisting it downwards. I love the idea of having a blaster shield to protect your hands from getting hit. They are also detachable if you don’t want to use them. Next, load one dart into the barrel and the other two can be kept in the storage within the handle. The darts are made from a Smart Stick™ adhesive technology which enables the darts to only bond to Smart Stick™ surfaces. The darts are made from hollow plastic straw material and they are very light. If the Smart Stick™ is not sticky, it can be washed and dried to be reused again.
The BOOMco.™ is very powerful as it is able to launch at least 70 feet which is an excellent range. Each trigger is fast acting. The darts can bounce back if hit onto non-stick surfaces. We played with our 6 year old son and after some time, he did find it hard to pull back the slider as it requires plenty of strength. Loading each dart is very straight forward and it didn’t jam.
The styling of the gun looks nice. We were slightly disappointed with the attachable target sticker as it is so small that makes it difficult to hit, especially for younger children. It would have been great if the attachable target sticker was as big as the packaging. Overall, BOOMco.™ is a very powerful gun and gives us a lot of fun playing with it.
