Angry Birds Star Wars Telepods Review

27 May 2014 by Eileen

Over the last few months, we have been part of Toys R Us toyologists and finally I have been able to put this review up!  However the reviews have already been posted on their main website and their blog!  We have been testing out Angry Birds Star Wars Telepods and this is what we thought of it!

Angry Bird Star Wars Telepods

Both of my children are no strangers to Angry Birds games.  They both have a smaller version of the Angry Birds launching game.  This is so much bigger than what I expected.  It come with 1 Lightsaber launcher, 10 figures, 1 Telepods base, 20 blocks, 7 Star Destroyer pieces and instructions.

Each of the pieces are lightweight and well made.  I found it a little frustrating to put everything up. They are like dominoes – one small mistake and everything drops.  But both of my children found it very amusing. Both (aged 5 and 6) were able to place the pieces together with only a little help. When everything is built, it looks fantastic! Every piece contains a lot of detail.

Inside the set, there are 5 Bird figures and 5 Pig figures.  My son refers to them as good guys and bad guys. Each character is well made and comes with a QC code at the bottom. This is to use it on the app.

A unique feature of the Lightsaber launcher over the launchers that we’ve previously used is that it allows you to launch up to 3 birds at the same time. However, we found it was more miss than hit and went back to launching a single bird at a time.

There are two ways of playing, the first one is to stack them up and launch it birds at it, and the second way is to use the birds in an app. I had to purchase the Angry Birds Star Wars II app for 69p in order to play the game. I had expected it to be free since we had this game but it is not. Once the game loads, I put the Telepods base with the figures and it quickly picks up the characters in the game. Overall, this is great for any Star Wars and Angry Birds fans for display or play.

This looks like a great set that I know my son would love! It’s a shame you don’t get a free code for the App though, I would have expected it too.

That’s an excellent shot Miss C!! Well done. I’m surprised you had to pay, I think that’s mean, they could give you a code. It looks very impressive though 🙂
