No fresh herbs? Too lazy to chop? Need not to worry! Gourmet Garden is coming to the rescue! I am so pleased to try out the range of Gourmet Garden blends: Garlic, Basil, Coriander, Ginger, Hot Chilli, Lemon Grass and their brand new recipe book: ‘Gourmet Garden Garlic’, part of the 30 Best Loved Recipes collection by Hachette Partworks Ltd. It’s packed with inspiring midweek meals that use a squeeze of delicious Garlic such as Herby Haddock Fishcakes, BBQ Lamb Burgers and Kerala Butter Chicken. All dishes are hassle-free to make and include beautiful full colour photographs throughout.
Each tube comes with a screw-on cap and once opened, they last for 28 days so you’ll have a herb garden at your fingertips every day. The fresh herbs are picked at their peak, washed and blended, retaining all the wonderful aroma and natural essential oils, with no waste.
Garlic is used most commonly in our kitchen. I love to use it in a stir fry. I have also used the Garlic Blend to mix into the pork mince to get rid of the porky smell and enhance the flavour. There are so many uses for the garlic blend, you can use it to make garlic bread, garlic mayonnaise etc. In the recipe book, out of the 30 ways of using the Garlic Blend, I would love to try to cook the Cheese, Garlic and Herb bread. It simply looks scrumptious.
Basil is not only for spaghetti, you could stir it into a can of tomato soup as you reheat it to enhance the flavour.
I also love sweet chilli so I added a spoonful of runny honey with the Hot Chilli blend to make a delicious dip.
Or try adding a tablespoon of Coriander and Ginger to a simple home-made carrot soup, or some Lemon Grass Blend to Tom Yum soup for extra fragrance! You can find Gourmet Garden in the fresh produce aisle in supermarkets priced from around £1.69. For other delicious recipes by Gourmet Garden, visit the website http://www.gourmetgarden.com/uk/
