Do You Speak English, Moon?

4 October 2013 by Eileen

Do You Speak English, Moon? is a book written by Francesca Simon who also wrote Horrid Henry books. It was released on 12th September 2013 and published by Orion Publishing. It is hardback containing about 32 pages. The font is big and easy to read by young school children. Each of the pages are beautifully illustrated with fine attention to detail by Ben Cort who is the worldwide best selling illustrator of Alien Love Underpants and Dinosaurs Love Underpants.

Do you speak English, Moon

A little boy who is getting ready for bed looks up at the moon and wonders whether it can speak English as it shines all over the world. He tells the moon about his adventures and asks the moon about his.

This is a simple and easy to read book. It also prompted my children to ask me a lot of questions about the galaxy, the seas etc. My children love this book but felt it is a bit too short.  It would be great if somehow there was a reply from the moon rather than just a question. But on the other hand, it does encourage both children to think about the answer. It is a great bedtime story book.
