Woolly and Tig – One Step at a Time

11 September 2013 by Eileen

Abbey Home Media will release a new DVD for Woolly and Tig – One Step at a Time on 16th September 2013.  It is a series of 5 minute live action dramas about a three year old girl (Tig) and her toy spider (Woolly).

Woolly and Tig watching

Tig finds new experiences frightening and her favourite toy helps explain what is happening and provides empathy and reassurance to enable Tig to face unfamiliar situations with confidence.  Each episode is narrated by Tig as she tells viewers about the world around her.

In this series, there are 15 episodes and in each episode there are always new experiences.  From going to toilets to taking a bus rides.  I sat down with both of my children and at the same time I had tried to relate the experience to them. I particularly like the Splash episode.  After 8 weeks of break, we have not been to swimming lessons and both children were not very comfortable to go back to swim.  After watching, Ms C was nervous of going back swimming.  She was not very keen but with much encouragement, she was able to go swimming today.

There are definitely educational benefits in this show and they are suitable for pre-school children who are quite nervous.  There are so many episodes in this DVD, there is bound to be one that you are able to relate to your child.  Overall, we give a thumbs up for the educational benefits.

Disclosure: We received the sample for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own.
