A Successful Something Special Twitter Party!

12 September 2013 by Eileen

Something Special is a colourful, fun programme, shown daily on CBeebies, featuring the much loved presenter Justin Fletcher, together with his alter-ego Mr Tumble. The show encourages children to explore the world around them and incorporates the use of Makaton; a recognised form of communication using signs and symbols, as well as rhymes and songs, to encourage and develop language in a fun and exciting way.

Golden Bear will be launching the full new collection of Something Special this autumn which is available to buy at Tesco. The exciting new Mr Tumble toys and accessories, inspired by the hit CBeebies show, are sure to impress and can be seen at this year’s Christmas in July!

Today had been a fun and stressful day. Having to host the Something Special Twitter party game along with UKMumsTV.

Something Special Twitter Party

We had 5 children aged from 3 to 6 years old joining us for the party! We followed the Twitter from UKMumsTV and got our party started. First, we played Pin The Nose On Mr Tumble and most of the children participated! Only one child was frightened of being blindfolded. Mr Z won a set of Mr Tumble Stick On Felts as he was the closest to pinning Mr Tumble’s nose in the correct place!

Next, we played What’s Mr Tumble Going To Say Next where each child passed Mr Tumble around the circle. They each had to press the button hidden on Mr Tumble’s left hand. Mr J won this Mr Tumble Interactive Toy. There were sounds and lights in this toy.

Soon after we played Mr Tumble’s Spotty Bag where I hid 5 different toys inside the bag. So I let all of them have a good look before hiding one away. Mr K won this game and the bag is his.  It is a soft bag that it is great to bring out. It is big enough to put his favourite toys or books in.

While I quickly turned theoven on to cook pizza, the children were each given colouring activities and they also played with the Mr Tumble Stick on Felts. In this pack, there are different designs of costumes for Mr Tumble.

At around 5pm, all the children were very hungry.  I did the decoration of Mr Tumble’s fairy cakes on Sunday and they were gobbled up in no time. The cake, jelly and pizza went down well too!

Lastly, we played Pass The Parcel. This is the game that all children were looking forward to.  Ms C refused to play as she want to be in control of the music! She is our future DJ! Each children were so happy to open up each layer and review the toys, magazine and game they had!

I would like to thank UKMumsTV, BBC and Golden Bear toys for this fun and exciting party! All toys and accessories are available to buy in Tesco and other retailers. They are great for pre-school children or any Mr Tumble fans!

Disclosure: I am the host of the twitter party. We received the samples for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own.
