The Do’s and Don’ts of Decorating a Nursery

For many parents, especially those expecting their first child, decorating a nursery is one of the most challenging things to do. It is very tempting to just add everything the baby would need to the (often limited) space, but doing so will make the nursery feel cluttered and less functional.

If you are facing this challenge, you have come to the right page. In this article, we are going to take a look at some of the best do’s and don’ts of decorating a nursery. Let’s get started, shall we?

The Do’s and Don’ts of Decorating a Nursery

Mamas & Papa Murano Changing Unit

The Mamas & Papa Murano changing unit is a set of 3 drawers with an attachable changing table which works really well and offers really good value for money. We bought a changing mat to put on top.  The instructions are easy to follow but it took my husband and I at least an hour to assemble. The unit is very sturdy and made of good quality materials.  The drawers are not very deep and cannot store lots of clothing. The drawers don’t come with the rubber stoppers to stop the drawers from banging when closing.

Cosatto EASI PEASI Changing Unit

Cosatto changing unit is the most straightforward to assemble and took me 30 minutes by myself.  Not much of screwing or hammering. There are lots of useful storage compartments but they are a little too small for big items like eczema cream. I like the shape of the bathtub, which is beneath the changing mat, as it allows baby to sit at an angle.  As for the bathtub, we didn’t use it as we had the changing unit in our living room. It comes with a comfy, padded and easy to clean changing mat.

Our Stokke Care Changing Table

We first got this Stokke Care Changing Table when we had our second child in 2009. It is a brilliant buy although it is very expensive but it is built to last. The unique design is very stylish, and multi-functional. It can be converted into a desk, TV shelves or book shelves. Firstly, the height for the changing mat is at a comfortable level. The changing mat is well padded but not easy to clean.
